Junko Watabe joined Recruit in 2004 after working as a researcher at Dai Nippon Printing and a startup. After launching a CRM initiative for the travel segment in 2010, she broadened her scope to company-wide CRM management, user ID integration, and partnerships with Ponta by Loyalty Marketing and d Point by NTT DOCOMO. She became Corporate Executive Officer of Recruit Lifestyle in 2012 and joined the Privacy 3.0 Project within Recruit in 2019.
